We work mostly on buildings that already exist.
Most of the buildings we are asked to change were standing long before us, and most are better than their briefs suggest. So we start by deciding what stays: the walls, the light, the way a room already works. Then we draw only what the old fabric cannot do alone, and we stop there.

How we work
Section before plan
A plan can be drawn from a schedule of rooms. A section cannot — it needs a decision about height, about light, and about what the building already is. So the section comes first, and by the time a plan exists most of the argument is settled.
